Features PDF Print E-mail

I know there are already "some" Ticket and helpdesk systems out there. The flagship is probably Globodigital's Support Center (http://www.globodigital.net/support_center.html), but it's commercial. Another one is WATS (http://www.webamoeba.co.uk ), which will become good with new versions, but I never really liked it. And of course, there are just the implementation hacks and bridges for other ticket systems like bugzilla or Flyspray.

I basically just needed something for my website to keep track of Bug reports and Feature requests, as they intend to get lost somewhere in my mailboxes. So it is aligned all around software and projects. And this is what it is for. Not for support centres, not for knowledgebases. Just submit issues and have them stored, so you do not lose track and people can look up the current status.

So at the moment, it looks as follows:

  • Manage different products with their versions - both released and unreleased versions
  • Define categories within the product (like I use it, "Frontend" or "Backend"), so I know which part of a product a bug report is about
  • Define multiple types of tickets, like "Bug report" or "Feature Modification Request", you name it
  • Configure different stati of tickets and define, which status designates an Open ticket and which stands for a Closed one.
  • Each ticket is assigned to somebody. The assigning can be done automatically via the product. So each product has a default user and if somebody submits a Bug for Product XYZ, the manager of product XYZ will automatically be assigned to the ticket.
  • Set the current status of the ticket. This is done very simple by just selecting a percentage value between 0% and 100% in 10% steps
  • Registered users can write comments for a ticket in the frontend
  • All changes to a ticket are logged in a Audit Log so you can follow up who changed what
  • Send email to subscribers if a ticket is changed
  • All lists in the backend can be easily sorted, filtered and searched. This makes navigating and editin items much, much, much easier for you - AWESOME!

Currently, the backend is 90% finished, and in the frontend users can list, sort and read the tickets and also write comments. More features to be coming soon! Watch the development by the Bug-Tracker on this website: http://www.mylansite.org/Bugs/ .
