or does it all have to be done from the backend?

I have finally got the com_mls_events and extcalendar playing together. But there is the ability to add an event in the extcal section, which doesn't add it to the lanparty bit, and i don't want people using that instead of the lanparty one.

What exactly are you planning on doing with this website?

No, you cannot add events to com_mls_events through the frontend.

And events which are added in ExtCal do not get added to com_mls_events - you would have to change the code within ExtCal for that - obviously

It's going to be used to allow members to book and pay for monthly lunches, with guest speaker. It's only my second joomla site, but what better way to learn than throwing yourself in the deep end?

i'll just have to plan the users and admins carefully... i always worry about handing things over to the clients though - especially of computers aren't their thing. I'll have to get a good back up system going and then set it free....

Well I would like it too if it was possible to add events for the mylancompnent via the frontend.

In my case it is coupled as well with extcal. But i have lot's of events to work with, and it would be a great deal if lots of users could help me with this.

I am using the mylanpartycomponent only for trackdays for motorcyclists, but even those are around 150 /year or more...
