I am running the latest Joomla and I am getting error after error and am curious as to why? Is there a certain order in which I am supposed to install all of the components? Are there certain steps I need to take to make the components work together?

The order in which you install doesn't matter. Just make sure you have everything installed you need. Most components need at least com_mls_lang and com_mls_events to be installed.
I have recently seen some issues with open_basedir, so you should turn this off.
