Need Help setting up a tournament 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello one & all. I'm a leader of a UK/Europe CoD2 clan with some 40 members and quite a few loyal public.

I was hoping to set up a CoD2 mini league (knock out tournament) which is how I came across your rather splendid joomla components.

I have managed to install all the required _coms successfully and added the mini league to the events and a few 'test' teams but after that I'm getting a bit lost. I'm not sure how to go about creating the structure of the tournament with the teams I've added, how to add a match and how to declare the result.

Any pointers by your good and helpful selves would be greatly appreciated.

John.

Yes, this section of the manual is kinda empty

Basically:
1. Create an event
2. Create a tournament
3. Let users subscribe through the frontend for the tournament (remember, they need teams with enough members to join clan-based tournaments)
4. go to the Tournaments page on the backend and click on the red X in the "Started" column. You can then see the initial layout for the matches and can still swap teams around. You can also preview the full tree before you submit - very nice

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more detail.

Are you trying to put the lan events on the same day? Make sure the event is published.

Mine worked when I made a seperate event. But only one event can be active. (active events show up in the checklist, unless you change the settings in the checklist)

I follow those steps but mine doesn't display a list of any players... why would that happen? I am running the latest version.

Well, what do you expect to happen when you start the tournament? Obviously, you need to have participants for this specific tournament. Not just event participants, tournament participants you need to have.

I created a 4 player tournament (Singleplayer Game, Single-Elimination), then got 4 users to signup for that tournament. I then switch the tournament to started and the page displays this.

Sorry i should have started a new post on this topic...

Post edited by: Mix, at: 2007/01/11 17:00
