Hi Moensch,

Thnxx for this great component !! We have used this component in the past for our last LAN and intend to do so for the future ones as it worked great. However with the latest install to Joomla 1.08 myLAN seems to have trouble synchronizing it's accounts. Session Management has changed a lot, so this could be the trouble, but as the updates are very recent we can not help but wonder if we missed a configuration step.

Like stated above we use the Joomla 1.08 and all latest components and modules. Special thing: user can create an account with Simple Machine Forum Board which synchronizes those users with Joomla.

Hrm...

There is no user replication between mylansite and joomla. It seems more like the replication between SMF and Joomla is not quite working...

As of version 1.0.8, they indeed changed session management. Therefore you have a configuration option in the backend to revert the management back to what it was before. If this resolves it, you might want to bring this point up to whoever created the SMF bridge for Joomla.

Oh yeah, there is no need to create a link to the paypal component. All payment details will be displayed within the events component.

Post edited by: moensch, at: 2006/05/09 08:33

Thnxx We examined the bridge and it seems to be working fine. However as we went through all registration parts of the site we noticed 2 other small problems, which are probably related with the myLAN problem.

We also did a full review on the myLAN coding to exclude that, and it seems we have made an understatement at first: Very very good job !!

Final conclusion: somewhere in the expanding and updating of the site a small bug entered in the session management. As the new Joomla version is coming up (inside info, i know ) we're rebuilding the site at that point. Session management will change a lot in the new Joomla version so we hope the rebuild will solve the problem.

Thnxx for helping !!
