Your MySQL Version does not seem to be new enough. The query I run here worked in tests on a 4.1.12a server, it failed on a server running 4.0.22. So for everything below 4.1.12, you will see this error and the "Seat" column cannot be displayed. The same applies to the participants list in the frontend. So it is advised that - if enabled - you do not display the "Seat" column in the frontend participants list. You can change this in the Configuration for the Events component.
